Wednesday’s Poll – Vote Now

You know how life has a way of changing your plans?

Well that happened to me yesterday.

I had this list of things I planned to do.

That list you voted on.

And I had full intentions to follow that list.

my daughter texted me Sunday and asked if we would be interested in spending some time in the pool here on the farm on Monday.

We don’t get to spend near enough time together and I couldn’t pass up the chance to spend some time with her and my granddaughter.

First of all, I had forgotten that I needed to get by the school to pick up next semester’s books. So I did that bright and early.

Then I planned to get started on that painting.

Only I couldn’t find the paint.

So Boo and I decided to get started mowing.

That only lasted about an hour because by this time it was way too hot.

So we spent the afternoon in the pool with my daughter and granddaughter. The Captain came home early and joined us.

After cooling off The Captain did a little mowing himself.

After they left Boo and I did a little more mowing and I jumped in the pool to cool off again.

I did, by the way, get one of those fish tanks cleaned.

So I didn’t totally ignore the list.

Today I’ll be working on the list again and trying to finish up that mowing.

We had several rain showers a week or so ago and the grass got out of control.

I’m taking the painting off the list until I find the paint.

But I still have those gourds to wash.

Another fish tank to drain and clean.

And that seat cushion to sew.

But then I have invited my daughter and granddaughter to go to that amusement/water park I told you about.

It all depends on her work schedule.

The Sound of Water

Over the past few years my emotions have been over hills and down in the valleys.

A roller coaster ride that has taken its toll.

As my brother’s health slowly deteriorated, so did my emotional well being.

Because of past emotional upheaval, I do not turn to friends and family for support.

Not to say that I don’t have a strong network of family and friends, because I do have much support from those who love me.

And I appreciate ALL the support that is given to me.

It is nice to have someone beside me at times and to know that there are friends and family that are a phone call or a click away.

But there are times when I need to find that inner peace.

I tend keep things inside and lean more toward the beauty around me, God’s things, to lift my spirits.

I pray for the things I need to lift my spirits and they are revealed to me just when I need them most.

Sometimes in something as small as a tiny flower. And other times in things as large as a rainbow.

They are there, reminding me that I am not alone. That I am being listened to, watched over and not forgotten.

God’s love is always present.

One of the things that relaxes me the most is water.

A small creek.

A mighty river.

Or the constant tides of the ocean.

The soft babbling of a creek or the sound of a crashing wave is music to me. I could sit lost forever in the sounds of water.

While I sit and listen and watch the flow or churn, I notice the things that surround the water.

The rustle of leaves as the wind blows through.

A bird as it flies quietly overhead.

Critters skampering about.

The beauty of a majestic tree.

The distinct smell of the ocean.

These are all things made by God, no human can claim rights.

They are gifts to remind us that we are never alone.

He is there.

Patiently waiting for a chance to reveal himself and his love.

Thank you, Shirley!

Wheedle Word 11

Last week’s Wheedle Word was….

Several things come to mind when I think water and in no particular order.

Do the horses have plenty of clean water?

Do we have hot water? Or do I need to go push the reset button AGAIN? (we are having a water heater issue that’s driving me nuts)

And right at the present….

How much water are we gonna get from the remnants of Hurricane Ida?

It’s so fun reading what different words bring to the minds of different people. I’m glad you are enjoying playing along with me.

For this week’s Wheedle Word I thought I would stay with the element theme.

So now what comes to mind when I give you the word…..

Will this one be a hard or easy one?

I can’t wait to read your thoughts.

Funny how Wheedle Word 11 falls on November 11, 2009.

And no I didn’t plan that!
