Yesterday morning I woke up with a hankering.
A strong desire for biscuits and butter.
For biscuits, butter and…..whatever kind of jams and jellies I could find.
Maybe strawberry jam….
Or apple jelly….
Oh, and I had to have some apple butter, too….
And a cold glass of milk to wash it down with.
I used to make biscuits like this almost daily.
There was barely a time when you would walk into my kitchen and not find some homemade biscuits sitting around somewhere.
I guess work and a busy lifestyle have led me away from my biscuit making days.
Now, I usually only fix them with Sunday breakfast, along with gravy, bacon and eggs. (Which is usually around lunchtime)
It doesn’t take long to make them.
I just stirred them up and put them in the oven and by the time I finished washing a little bit of dishes and gathered the butter, plates, flatware, jams and jellies they were ready to come out of the oven.
Boo and the Captain enjoy when I get a hankering for something, cause they know they will benefit from it, too.
Together, we have decided this would be a great start to Saturday mornings.
We are not much for an early breakfast. By the time we are up and about and the hunger pangs start, this is a quick and easy way to start the day.
If you would like to know how I make these drop biscuits……….click here.
What would you top your hot biscuits with?
