Have You Ever…..

Over the weekend I mowed and mowed and mowed some more.

Did you know that locusts do not like lawn maintenance equipment?

Really anything with a motor. Which would explain all the bug gut spots on the windshield of my truck.

Anyway, I noticed when I was using the push mower that they kept flying into it. Then, the Captain, who was using the weedeater, asked me if they were attacking me. It seems that they kept missing the weedeater and landing on his legs. At one point he was chasing them with the weedeater.

No, I didn’t get pictures because I didn’t find out about it until after the fact.

You’ll have to imagine the Captain attempting to wack locusts instead of weeds.

When I mow I do silly things, like mow around the daisy patches that have sprouted up in my yard.

They only bloom once a year and I want to enjoy every last second of it.

Here’s a picture of the yard mowed “around” the daisy patch.

My guys would have mowed them down before I had a chance to say anything.

I’m sure glad I was the one doing the mowing.

So, have you ever chased anything with a weedeater

OR

ever mowed around a wildflower patch?

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Well that locust thing sounds like something right out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I would have loved to see the Captain chasing them with the weed eater!

  2. I love daisies, too, but sometimes they do have a tendency to take over. We have lots of things we have planted in our yard that we have to mow around. It’s a tedious job, but somebody has to do it.
