Not What I Expected

I am coming up on my one year anniversary for this blog.

I can’t tell you exactly why I started blogging in the first place.

Maybe to put into words the stories I had heard all my life.

Or to share the pictures I take of things here on the farm.

Like this deer trail….

To share moments in my life that make me smile, laugh or cry.

Other blogs inspire me to notice things in a different light.

Simple farm episodes.

Country life.

Inspiration for a perfect photo.

There are days when I don’t seem to have anything to say or write.

And days when I think I have written all there is to write.

I have started posts, only to abandon them. They are sitting in my drafts, waiting.

Some have only a word or two, to remind me there is a story waiting to be written.

Some are just a picture, waiting for words.

Like this one…

Doesn’t it look to you that there may have been a fence here at one time?

There are times when I am on the edge of giving up.

I think to myself, is it worth all the time and effort I put into each and every post?

Then I think of the friends I’ve made because of blogging.

And the memories shared that my kids will read.

Experiences with friends and family that remind us that it’s the memories that keep life interesting.

It’s not at all what I expected.

It’s more!
